Title: International Workshop on Emerging Issues and Challenges to Statistics

Description: Introduction The International Workshop on Emerging Issues and Challenges to Statistics (IWEICS) will be organized by Xiamen University in cooperation with University of Science and Technology of China and University of South Alabama. The workshop will be held in Xiamen, Fujian province, P.R. China. It is co-sponsored by International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA) and Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS).

The major concentration of the conference's academic activities will be on some emerging issues and challenges to statistics including, but not limited to, statistical genetics, parametric and nonparametric methods, bioinformatics, biased sampling, measurement errors.

Xiamen University is located in the South of China. Xiamen has a fairly gentle and agreeable climate, with only slight temperature and climatic changes month by month. The winters are mild and quite pleasant at times, although some strong north-easterly winds are not uncommon.

Important Dates April 15, 2010: deadline for invited paper abstract submission May 15, 2010: early registration starts. August 15, 2010: deadline for contributed paper abstract submission September 1, 2010: deadline for early registration. October 1, 2010: deadline for 100% refund. November 15, 2010: deadline for refund.
