| Title: | ISBIS-2010 International Symposium on Business and Industrial Statistics

| Description: | ISBIS (the International Society of Business and Industrial Statistics) holds a major international Symposium every two years, focussing on quantitative aspects of Finance, and important statistical issues relating to productivity improvement and decision-making at all levels of business and industry, as well as more frequent regional meetings addressing more specialised areas. Recent Symposia were held at the Azores and Prague. The next international Symposium, ISBIS-2010, will be held St. Bernardin Adriatic Resort & Convention Center located in lovely little coastal town Portoro~ (Portorose) in Slovenia, during 6-9 July, 2010, preceded by a Workshop day on 5 July. Apart from its broad coverage of topics, ISBIS-2010 will feature two particular areas of activity: industrial applications of Image Analysis, and current and future developments in handling large and complex data sets. There will also be sessions of particular interest to younger members of the statistical profession, organised by the ISBIS Young Statisticians group, y-BIS. Authors of invited and contributed papers will have the opportunity to submit extended versions of their papers for publication in a special issue of the Society's journal, Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry.
